Hello, my name is Amy Suydam. I have been in education for over 20 years, both as a classroom teacher and in the last six years, as a full time mentor to new teachers. I am excited to share with you my knowledge, resources, and ideas that will better support you as an educator. My support will start with resources and ideas that provide those quick “take-aways” that will land immediately back in your classroom and benefit your students. In the future, I look forward to including special guests on this page to take our collaboration and new learning to the next level.
For my fellow teacher mentors, I also look forward to sharing ways to better communicate and give essential feedback to our new teachers. This is necessary work that we do, to set a foundation and retain teachers in our vital profession. There will be resources to support classroom feedback, induction and intern program requirements, and opportunities to chat and collaborate on best support systems for new teachers.
Teaching is so rewarding and through our collaboration together, we will have a constant “toolbox” filled with new ideas. Teacher systems of support will help us to find the joy and increase our confidence during those less desirable and most challenging days. We will be able to build our resiliency, and have supports with finding balance between our professional and personal lives. I AM EXCITED TO PROVIDE A PLACE TO HELP YOU DO THIS….
